Basic Butter Recipe

With the basic butter recipe you can make enough to use as butter and have handy for whenever you'd want to use it for toast, mac and cheese, or whatever. Any recipe that calls for butter you can stick it in there. You can also make just enough for a specific recipe such as a single batch of cookies or brownies.. whatever. Like I mentioned earlier you can substitute butter for oil if you wish.

The formula stays the same no matter what amount of butter you will  want (1 stick of butter (1/2 cup), not margarine, per every 1/8 (3.5 grams) of weed)

Let's get started...

Cook Time: 1 hour to 1 hour and 10 minutes
Level of Difficulty: Beginner



THINGS YOU WILL NEED  (Amazon gave me good deals on stuff i needed)

    * Marijuana
    * Butter/Oil
    * Pot or Frying Pan
    * Wooden Spoon
    * Rubber Spatula
    * Cheese Cloth (<--best option) or Strainer With Tiny Holes or Tea Strainer
    * Measuring Cup (Preferably Pyrex)


 We must melt the butter! You'll want to set your stove top in between medium low and medium.. you're going to have to be patient we need to keep the butter at a temperature below 380 (just below a simmer)...

 STEP 2:

 Once the butter is melted it's time to throw in the weed..

 ..This is the boring part.. for the next hour you must stir, with your wooden spoon, every 5 minutes to make sure that it isn't burning. Keep an eye on it for the first 15 minutes.. if it starts to simmer turn the heat down just a tad so it becomes a very light simmer.. when you burn the weed it will wreak like shit and it will taste nasty, but if it's not hot enough the process is pointless..

TIP: After a while you will start to smell the weed cooking, make sure you have the over the stove fan going or a Fabreze candle lit.. incense.. something.

STEP 3: 

After your herb has cooked for an hour or so, depending on weather you want to go the distance, take the pot or pan off of the burner and let it sit for about 5 or 10 minutes to cool down.

               It should have a dark green color to it when it is complete.


Now that it's cooled, we've got to strain all the crunchy thc-less weed out of the butter.. You can do it one of two ways: with a strainer of some sort or a cheesecloth.. 

(It doesn't necessarily have to be poured in to a measuring cup, you can use a bowl if you'd like) 

 Either method you will have to do some squeezing if you want to get as much butter out as possible.

All the left over crunchies go in the garbage, there is NO THC in them and they taste gross when you're eating them in a batch of whatever.. trust me on this one and toss 'em..


Once you have strained the butter, you can either cover it and stick it in the fridge for butterly usage.. or if you wanted to use it to make batch of brownies, cookies, or whatever, just take the melted butter and measure out the amount the recipe calls for. Store the remainder in the fridge..

After  you have stored your remainder butter in the fridge it will turn in to a solid greenish block of butter..
